The recently established spin-off company, OPMET Labs s.r.o., focuses on developing innovative measuring devices intended for measuring the shape of the surface of optical elements.

The company's team

builds on and further develops the accumulated expertise transferred from the research centre TOPTEC (Institute of Plasma Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic).

Innovative approach

The measuring devices employ several distinct series of innovative approaches and unconventional principles, including absolute interferometry based on tunable lasers, the utilization of graphic multicore units, and the application of selected principles of machine learning.

The common-path Fizeau interferometer, equipped with a slightly tunable laser source or phase shifting by piezo actuators, is designed to measure the shape of planar, spherical, and mildly aspherical optical surfaces. With advanced interferogram processing features and comprehensive software, it enables precise measurement of various optical surfaces. Digital zoom ensures high spatial resolution, even for elements with significantly lower R/D ratios than those of the transmission sphere, removing the need for many expensive transmission spheres.

The software of an interferometer device is designed to be highly user-friendly, providing an intuitive interface that simplifies operation for users of all experience levels. It incorporates advanced wavelength shifting algorithms that are insensitive to ghosts and back surface reflections, ensuring accurate and reliable measurements. The software offers comprehensive data post-processing capabilities, including masking and filtering options, Zernike polynomial fitting for precise surface characterization, and the generation of results compliant with ISO 10110 standards. The software has 2 modes Basic and Advanced.
